UCL Press Megajournal- Environmental Domain: Applications Open for Editorial Positions

Posted on June 27, 2018 by Alison Fox

UCL Press, in partnership with the UCL Environment Research Domain and supported by the UCL Office of the Vice-Provost (Research), is pleased to announce we are seeking to appoint an Editor(s)-in-Chief and Editorial Board Members to help develop, launch, and run, the new UCL Press Open Access Megajournal within the environmental sciences (yet to be named).

The megajournal is by definition broad in scope and aims to cover all aspects of environment-related research, encouraging as many single and cross-disciplinary works as possible. This includes contributions from life and earth sciences, as well as medical, physical, population, engineering, and social sciences. UCL Press plans to roll out further Open Access Megajournals across other subjects and UCL research domains, upon successful launch and development of this megajournal.

Submissions to the megajournal are open to anyone and will operate a pre-print server post-publication open peer review model: the submitted article is posted immediately to the pre-print server, an editor invites reviewers who openly publish their comments alongside the paper, and the editor makes a decision for publication (accept/reject/revise). Once accepted, the paper is published formally in the journal (this is separate to the pre-print server), alongside links to the review history, that remain freely and permanently available to everyone.

We are interested in individuals who are committed to open science, data sharing and innovation in scientific publishing, with subject expertise across environment related research. Below you will find further information, role description, and person specification for the positions:
